Well, Ryan had his 1 year checkup yesterday. He came in at a whopping 17 lbs and 28 1/2" with a head of 17 3/4". His head comes in at 31%, length at 13%, and weight at 0.3%. We switched pediatricians for Ryan's checkup. I switched Lauren back in December or whenever that was and the new doctor found that mass. Ryan already had his 9 month checkup scheduled with the old doctor, so I just kept the appointment. The old doctor was the one that kept asking for the weight checks each month. Anyway, now, we've officially switched everyone over to the new doctor. This new one actually said more than "Oh, he just needs more calories" (which is what the old one said). She actually gave me suggestions on how to add calories into his diet. Ironically, the 2 biggest changes that would help him would be adding butter and cheese to everything. I started laughing when the doctor made her suggestions. I say that the advice was ironic because we were going to start cooking Lauren's dairy-free meals for everyone. Now, I have 2 kids at opposite ends of the dairy spectrum. Basically, I'll just make everything for Lauren and then mix in butter and shredded cheese for Ryan. It's funny what life throws your way.
Anyway, Ryan figured out how to climb up, sit, & ride on the rocking doggy by himself today. Here are a few pictures. Lauren is officially full-swing into the jealousy thing. If I take a picture of Ryan, she starts begging for me to take her picture. However, I think we've gone a little camera happy. She now asks to get her picture taken at any given moment. An example: The other day, she got angry and dropped down on the floor. She then looked up at me and said, "Take a picture of Lauren crying." (Yes, she still talks in 3rd person, but we're working on that.) Everything inside me wanted to, but I didn't want to reward bad behavior. So, I'm sorry, but there are no pictures of Lauren's "cute" temper tantrum. OH! By the way, in response to the first friend quiz, we have 2 types of pets, the cat & Lauren's fish.
