The Friday before Labor Day, we went to the Greenville Drive game downtown. The Drive lost, again, but the fireworks were good, as usual. It started to rain during the 8th inning, but not enough to pause the game or cancel the fireworks. All I can say is that if we had sat through that torturous of a game (I don't think the Drive scored once, while the other team kept getting run after run) and they canceled the fireworks, Scott & I would have been upset. But are fears were assuaged when they started the fireworks less than 5 minutes after the final out.
On our walk to the front gate.
Our seats on the grassy knoll. No one warned us what a sharp incline it was. However, the kids had fun going down the "slide". Thank goodness for good stain removers. (If you look at Ryan in the pic on the right, he's actually saying "cheese".)
I forgot that the zoom was on for the one on the right.
There was a nice cool breeze that came at appropriate times to keep us from dying in the heat.
And I thought Tiger's Stadium was the only one with "Obstruction View" seats. :) The kids lined the fence the whole time, except for when it rained. Plus, kids were playing catch with a baseball right on top of us. I was just waiting for a kid to miss the ball and have it land on Lauren's head. They finally got the drift that we didn't want them throwing over us and left, only to be caught in the middle of a kickball game. What a night!

The kids went to play in the playground and within a minute, someone pushed her down. She was fine, but a little shaken. Nothing that a little "lemon" (that's "lovin'") from Daddy couldn't fix.
The following pictures were taken by Lauren, without my help.
Catching the raindrops in her mouth.
Finally, the fireworks began.
