Rudy! Rudy! Rudy!

I happened to read an article in the paper today that Giuliani is in town and was going to be down near JD today. So, I got the kids up from their naps and went down to see if we could catch a peak of him. He was at a local ice cream shop owned by a couple from our church, who also happen to work at JD too. Like I thought, I wasn't able to get in the shop to hear him speak. Unfortunately, I just missed the "baby-kissing and autograph" stage by a couple people. Rats!!! Oh well. At least I got to see him. Now, granted, it wasn't nearly as exciting as shaking George W's hand when he came to Bob Jones, but it was still pretty impressive to see a possible leader of the free world. All was not lost, though, because the kids got Rudy stickers. ;)

The Ron Paul advocates were out in full force

All decked out in "Rudy" paraphernalia

Waiting for the man of the hour to appear. The irony of this picture falls in the fact that this is the red Ron Paul truck. But hey, it was the only spot where the kids wouldn't get trampled by adult feet.

He finally arrived and thanks to the stinkin digital cameras (and the fact that I was on the phone w/ Scott), I missed it!!!! When I pressed the button, Giuliani's head was in front of that patch of brick just to the left of the man with the buzzed hair whose back of head is facing me. If you actually double-click on the picture to enlarge it, you can see the silver horseshoe thinness pattern hair just to the left of the back of the guy's head.

This was when I just missed the baby-kissing. I had Ryan in one arm, the camera in my other hand, and Lauren clinging onto my leg. (What can I say, I didn't want her getting lost in the stampede of the merciless media mass' feet.) There was another couple from our church, who also had 2 young kids, right next to me, and Giuliani's security guys kept shuffling him along. I guess we had too many babies to kiss. (Notice all the Ron Paul personages and signage up on the hill to the left.)

Here are some pics of the kids playing, still sporting their Rudy stickers.

(We got this stroller out of our neighbor's trash. Well, technically, it wasn't IN the trash, it was next to the trash can. One of the wheels sticks sometimes, but hey, Lauren doesn't care.)

Great pictures. That's cool that you were able to make it to see Giuliani.
