Today, we went to the dr's for Lauren's 2 year check up and Ryan's 6 mo check up (yet another perk of being 18 mo apart). We'll start with Lauren's stats. She went from 31 3/4" to 34 1/2" in 6 months, and her weight went from 22.6lbs to 24.0lbs. (Just useless info: Her hemoglobin was 13.5. I didn't notice how much my illnesses were affecting her when she was younger. At 9 mo., it was 8.0. [Those of you who are nurses and reading this, you know how bad that is.] After some iron supplements, it was brought up to 11.2. I thought she was going to struggle with anemia [it's in the family history], but I guess it was just me.)
Anyway, Ryan was the one that really suprised me. I thought he was going to weigh in at a hefty 16 or 17 lbs. Anyway, he went from 25" & 14.2lbs with a head of 16 1/2" at 4 months, to 26 3/4" and 15.10lbs and 17". To me, this still sounded big, but not huge. Out of curiosity, I went home and compared Lauren & Ryan's 6 month stats. Suprisingly enough, they weren't that much different. Lauren was 26 1/2" and 15.0 lbs with a head of 16 3/4". Not bad, considering how small Lauren had been and how relatively large Ryan had been at birth.
Anyway, they continue to amaze me at how quickly they grow.
