It was with great joy that I got Lauren some beginning roller skates for her birthday. These are pretty cool skates. The 1st stage locks up some of the wheels, so it's like walking with bulky shoes. Then, the 2nd stage only allows the wheels to roll forward. Finally, the 3rd stage allows the wheels to go forward or backward. Also, there are double wheels in the back to provide balance. Anyway, as I said, I was really excited about these, until Lori pointed out the fact that Lauren is already a klutz. Do I really want to make things worse by giving her skates? (I paraphrased what she said.) I then got really nervous, but Lauren seems to love them and has not fallen over once.
