Christmas 08 Pictures

Finally, here they are. I'm sure you've been missing them. Anyway, here are the pics that we got taken for Christmas. The mark on Lauren's left jaw is where she burned herself with my curling iron while I was upstairs getting her hair clip about 30 min before our app't. Great fun! I put a little powder on it, but it's still kinda bright.

The Henry Ford

My entire childhood, we took field trips to the Henry Ford Museum. Apparently, that title was too long, so now they've renamed it The Henry Ford. As in, the Henry Ford what? Anyway, since my parents have a pass, this summer we frequented Greenfield Village (for those not from MI, GV & HFM are both the same thing, just one is outside & one is inside). I thought that since they enjoyed the Villiage so much, that they would like the Museum. We took the morning and went there. Once again, the place was empty. If you're following my blog, this makes 2 popular places that were ghost towns when we visited (the other being Chuck E Cheese). 

Anyway, the morning went well. We took Luke with us. The kids had fun. However, for some odd reason, Ryan was into karate. Keep in mind, he has never seen karate before. Ever. The kid was doing karate chops and taking lunges every where. I've no idea where he got this from. Apparently, this is his latest phase. 

Oh, I forgot. If you've never been to The Henry Ford, it's a museum of the history of stuff. Pretty impressive, huh. :) I have no idea how to descirbe it. It has various trains, planes, and obviously cars, hence the name Ford. There's also a section dedicated to household improvements over the centuries. We were looking at the kitches through the ages and Lauren kept asking where their microwave was. Yep. it's pathetic. However, it's pretty hands-on. The kids got to put real parts on a real Model T. These poor folks that work there. Throughout the day, they assemble a real Model T in the museum, letting kids put it all together. However, that means that every night, it has to be taken apart. What a life.

Kelley's Wedding

The day started by getting our hair done at 6:30. What craziness. Anyway, sorry for the lack of pictures during the actual wedding. I figured I'd look kinda weird taking pictures from the stage. However, I left the camera in the nursery and forgot to give it to Scott. So, pictures take you from the getting ready stage to the reception. 

Snow day!!!!

The Friday before Christmas was my brother & sil's 20th anniversary. (Yah, they've been married to each other. I don't know why I felt the need to specify that it was both my brother and sister-in-law.) Anyway, my parents had their kids Thursday night. Turns out, Friday was a snow day. Christmas break started a day early. Anyway, the kids (and I include Scott in the "kids" reference) played outside in the morning. Then, we were going to drop them off at Tracy's house for lunch. We ended up going to Chuck E. Cheese. Here's a surprising tidbit of info that I learned that day. Snow days are perfect days for going to CEC. Our kids were the only ones there. There were 2 other ladies there eating, but that was it. As we were leaving, another family came in, but as a whole, we had the place to ourselves. Not a bad idea. Anyway, from there, we dashed down to the church for rehearsal. It was a busy day.

An early birthday

When we were up in MI in September, we decided to give Lauren a family birthday party. Not bad. Four years old and her first family birthday party. Anyway, here are pics from the occasion. Once again, as I've mentioned on here before, our camera doesn't do well with long-distance shots. Plus, Lauren was so excited and moving so quickly that 1/2 the pictures turned blurry.

One thing I miss down here is Bob Evan's. I miss their great blueberry pancakes. Anyway, when we go up to Michigan, we try to meet up with my mom's family that lives on the other side of the state. We meet up at the Bob Evan's in Jackson. Anyway, here's our annual picture.

Greenfield Village

While the guys were at the Tiger's game, we girls (well, most of us, and Luke) went to Greenfield Village. I can't remember the last time I was there. The last field trips that I remember from elementary school were just to Henry Ford Museum. I vaguely remember dressing up and going to the Village schoolhouse, but that was a loooong time ago. Anyway, here are pictures from our adventures. Included are my mom, me, Lauren, my sister-in-law Marcia, Danielle, and Luke. Missing are Becky, Britney, & Breanna. However, I guess some people have to work. Oh well. :)

Here are pictures that Scott took from the baseball game that they guys went to on Thursday. The Tiger's won with a walk-off home run by Miguel Cabrerra.

Happy Belated Birthday to me

For my birthday, my dad came down for a visit. In the tradition of the Fressels, we went to a local baseball game, the Greenville Drive. Apparently, it was quite the special night. They were doing this Beatles Mania thing. All the songs they played all night were from the Beatles. By "all the songs", I mean it was the same 4 songs over and over and over for 4 hours. Living a sheltered life, I had never really heard Yellow Submarine before. However, after 4 hours, I could almost sing it word for word. Good times!

Anyway, on our way into the game, they had one of the players outside signing autographs and taking pictures. He signed the kids baseball hats and we got their picture taken with him, just in case he ever got famous. It was a long game. I forgot what the final score was, but it was tied at 0 for a long time and the Drive lost. However, it was all worth it for the fireworks. That's the general synopsis. If I would have posted this shortly after it happened, I know I'd have a lot more details.

More Christmas pictures

Since I was a genius and forgot my camera all the time when we were up in MI, I am sharing my brother-in-law Jason's pictures with you for your viewing pleasure.

This first set needs a little explanation. Scott's birthday is March 15 and this year, he turns the big 3-0. And as such, I wanted to throw a big party for him. However, since we are the only ones that live in SC, I figured it would be easier to have a family party up in MI rather than have everyone trek down here in March. The only time I could get him up to MI without him thinking anything suspicious was at Christmas. So, hence, he got a surprise early 30th birthday party for Christmas. Yes, I realize his birthday is still 2 months away, but hey, a wife's gotta do what a wife's gotta do.

Here are pictures from the Moran Christmas party. We got family shots of each family. Also, Liz and Amy made an apron for Grandma Moran with all of her Elwart great-grandkids hand prints on it.

Wow, Yao's huge!

So, I'm finally getting to post pictures from when we were up in Michigan. We had the opportunity to go to a Pistons game. The Houston Rockets were in town. We went with Josh and Amy. Our seats were right behind the floor seats. It was great to watch the game that close. I would highly recommend it. Yao Ming is so much bigger than he looks on tv. He's huge! I had no idea he's younger than me. REALLY?! I guess his height makes him look older. Oh well. Anyway, we had a great time and here are some pictures. I tried to get a little of everything, except the Automotion girls. Amy & I decided that if this whole "Mom" thing didn't work out, we could be the Piston dance girls. :) Sorry about some of the poor quality pictures. It took me a while to figure out what setting I needed to take the pictures on. Also, I don't think I managed to get a picture of Tracy McGrady. Oh well.
