The annual Thanksgiving Day parade

Wow! How cold was it on Thanksgiving Day? you ask. Well, although, in the South, it was in the 60s, in the North, it was quite different. The day started at a balmy 31 degrees. By the time we left for the parade, it was 15 degrees with a windchill of -3. By the time we left halfway through the parade an hour later, the windchill was -18. When the wind wasn't blowing, it was a very nice fall/pre-winter day. However, when that wind hit, Wowzer! was it cold! It was so windy, that the parade coordinators decided not to have the baloons go down Woodward. It was funny, though, because on the radio, the announcers were going off their script talking about each of the balloons. Although it was windy, the sun was shining, so that helped with the atmosphere.

I'm in the yellow coat on the left. That pile of blankets to my right is my nephew Luke. You can see him "better" in the picture below. That's his hat (red & blue) sticking out from the pile. (You have to click on the picture & enlarge it to see the hood.)

If you look closely, you can see Lauren's eyes. How she could sleep through the cold is beyond me.
One of my other nieces and nephews and their friends.
