Well, how 'bout them Tigers. Right now, it seems like Michigan is a choking hazard. The Pistons & Red Wings did really well in their regular seasons, but then they got to the playoffs and just lost it. It has even passed down to the college level. Michigan State has really struggled. They start the game out well, but then just can't finish. The Tigers came in off of a sweep of the Yankees, lost their momentum in the week off, and then just lost it in the World Series. Poor Verlander. He just couldn't get it going. That being said, the guy is 23 years old. When I was 23, I was teaching in a public school in a small town down south, not the starting pitcher in the most watched baseball game. All is not lost in MI, though. The mighty Wolverines hang in there still undefeated. My other hope, is the Lions. Now, most of you reading this understand what a joke it is that the Lions would do well in the post season. However, I'm just saying that the teams that led their leagues in the regular series failed to win a national championship. Maybe, the team that just barely squeaks into the playoffs would win. Hey, I have to hold onto some hope with the Detroit teams. I'm living vicariously through them.
Anyway, all that to say, maybe next year, Tigers. The question that will remain on everyone's mind, should Kenny Rogers have started last night? We'll never know for sure, but be sure of this, we'll be back next year. :) Oh, and Go Blue!
